Q

What is the rotational rate (RPM) of my MicroNet / Fantom Drives product? Why should I care about this specification?

A

Micronet/Fantom Drives has multiple storage products. Some list the rotational velocity as part of the specification, and some do not. We do so in order to qualify a broader selection of disk mechanisms at the best possible costs, while offering more specific requirement products to offer customers storage solutions more tailored to their needs. The rotational velocity is an aspect of the storage product's overall performance, and may be required for specific professional applications such as pro audio capture- consult your application vendor's system requirements for more information.

Q

What is the warranty period for my external data storage device?

A

MicroNet and Fantom Drives have a standard one-year limited warranty on all products unless otherwise specified. For warranty information on a specific product, extended warranties and overnight exchange programs please consult your MicroNet or Fantom Drives dealer or the individual product pages on this website for more information. For our general warranty policy, please see http://www.micronet.com/support/warranty-terms.html

Q

What make/model of disk mechanisms do you use in MicroNet/Fantom Drives products?

A

MicroNet / Fantom Drives uses only the highest quality disk drives from top-tier hard disk manufacturers such as: Western Digital, Seagate, Hitachi, and Samsung. We carefully vet each model of hard disk we carry to ensure that it meets our rigorous demands for quality and performance. In addition, any disk mechanism we use will meet or exceed the stated specifications for any particular MicroNet or Fantom Drives product.

Q

Where can I find the driver download for my fantom drives external disk?

A

There are no drivers necessary for operating Fantom Drives on all supported host platforms, including Windows XP and newer, Mac OS X 10.2 and newer. All the device support in order to use/install the drive is already a part of your operating system.  If the computer is asking for drivers it is either because the drive has failed or there is a problem with your OS.

Q

While installing my hard disk software the NTI Shadow software asks for a serial number, but is not accepting my product serial, why is this?

A

The NTI Shadow serial number is printed on the physical disc included with your MicroNet / Fantom Drive product. Please note that the software is not required in order to use your drive, it is merely provided as a courtesy to add functionality to the drive. Consult your manual for instructions on how to configure or install your hard disk.
